San Gabriel River Valley 1999
30" x 24", 1999, $900
The scene is in a canyon that is the middlefork of the San Gabriel River, the site of the Georgetown Country Club. A natural habitat abundant with a variety of birds, animals, and fish. My guess is that when this club was established in 1927, it was because the land may not have been good for anything else. Many times floods have come thru this site, not the least of which was when 20 inches of rain that fell in a 24 hr period in Marble Falls, Texas in 2007 and ran off thru here. At that time all the burrowing animals were flooded out and so a number of foxes and bobcats began to roam in the open countryside amongst the golfers.
