Redstone Ranch to Stonewall Diptych 1985

This is the first of many paintings that I have done of this scene. The piece can either be hung together as shown here of apart such as on opposite sides of a window. Each new painting has taken liberties with 'fantazing' the landscape. There is something about the rolling hill country and expansive horizon that lends itself to discovering new interpretations. This is the site of an annual campout that we have been attending for 23 yrs. Most of the campers are people from South Dakota and some I have known for 40 yrs.
