Cornhill
20"x16", 1998, Sold
Cornhill is a farming community in central Texas that was originally settled by German immigrants. The German areas of Texas tended to be exclusive by the common bond of heritage and the fact that the residents spoke German. The church is a wood Catholic cathedral that looks out over the valley on a site called Cornhill. This painting was purchased by a man in California who grew up here and is familiar with the area. He was quite surprised to see a painting of a remote spot that not very many people are familiar with.
